Saint Malo, The call of the sea
Capital of the Sea, Saint-Malo has from time immemorial the city of sailors and navigators great animated by a desire for conquest and adventure.
Yesterday, Jacques Cartier, Duguay Trouin and Surcouf roamed the seas and continents in search of probable fortunes.
They later passed the baton to the crew of Newfoundlanders, the famous fishing vessels leaving for long campaigns in the North Sea.
Today, their heirs, became talented skippers, continue that great tradition of the sea and are engaging in sporting challenges as famous as the Route du Rhum and the Transat Quebec-St Malo.
